Key Qualifications:
Recent experience (within the past 2 years) using advanced clinical skills in the management of acute surgical patients is required
Neuroscience Nursing, Level 1, or Certificate in Orthopaedic Nursing, or commitment to initiate within one year of hire, is required
Current medication and aseptic technique certifications, (within the past 2 years) is required
Current Physical Assessment course is required
Current BCLS and evidence of continuing education is required
Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional able to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of the interdisciplinary team
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are required
Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position; performing substantial walking, standing, lifting, twisting and bending as required for patient care and other responsibilities
Positive attendance record essential

Position Summary:
Responsible for the delivery of patient centred nursing services for assigned patient including data collection, nursing assessment, care plan development, goal oriented treatment interventions, patient/family education, support and evaluation
Contributes to the development of a realistic discharge plan
Participates in program planning, continuous quality improvement and evaluation
