Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Programs provides key leadership, vision, and overall direction to our client programming and associated staff teams. Overseeing several direct reports, the Director of Programs ensures that all program delivery conforms to standards of excellence and supports the advancement of Inn from the Cold’s mandate and mission: to provide shelter, sanctuary and healing to assist homeless children and their families achieve independence.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director Programs at IFTC will perform a wide range of duties which include:
Develop, articulate and champion Program delivery strategies
Lead and direct agency programming to ensure existing Programs continue to support strategic outcomes and strive for best practices while developing new and innovative programming
Program staff development, training and supervision of a team of approximately 60 staff members
Budget and contract oversight, including planning, developing and monitoring of overall Program revenues and expenditures
Ensure compliance of program and operation standards as well as agency policies and procedures and applicable external requirements
Senior leadership support for human resource functions including recruitment, hiring, performance management, in conjunction with managers and Human Resources
Program design, planning and development oversight
Support funder relations and proposal and reporting requirements
Development, cultivation and stewardship of agency partnerships, networks, and community relationships
Contribute, as an active member of the IFTC Executive Team, in strategic planning, organizational visioning, and continuous improvement activities
Promote extensive awareness of Inn from the Cold and maintain excellent relationships with guests, partners, donors and the broader community
Provide senior level leadership both internally and externally to ensure that our programs thrive and adapt to the changing needs of stakeholders and community
Post-secondary education in a relevant field
Five + years of senior leadership experience
Strong, effective and engaging interpersonal and communication skills
Organizational fit and values alignment: holding a perspective of what is possible and open to growth and change and innovation in self, others and the work
A record of success in building and leading high performing, results-focused teams
Proven ability to engage partnerships, relationships and collaborative initiatives
Knowledge and experience working with vulnerable and marginalized populations
Knowledge and experience working with Indigenous cultures
Proven experience in program and community development
Strong ability as a systems thinker, an inspiring leader who holds clarity of direction and purpose
Experience in homeless shelter and housing settings is a significant plus
