Role Description

Reporting directly to the Vice President, Retail, National Marketing, the Marketing Assistant is tasked with planning and executing activities designed to elevate the Marché Central brand, raise awareness of the Centre and increase traffic.

Hot Off The Press: An additional 30 acres of land has been unlocked for future development. That’s 30 acres in addition to the current holding of five retail phases and 16 unenclosed campus-style buildings. That means, even MORE value-based outlet brands, service retailers and big box retailers, not to mention — a food emporium, green space and a central gathering place — all coming the customer’s way.


Plan and execute marketing-related initiatives and activities at Marché Central.
Plan and execute programming initiatives at the property.
Assist with the creation of marketing collateral including working directly with the advertising agency when needed.
Write, edit and proofread marketing and/or leasing materials as required.
Participate in regular marketing meetings, staff meetings, and one-on-one retailer meetings.
Serve as editor of the internal newsletter intended for the Marché Central merchant community, including writing copy, editing, designing the issue, proofreading, printing and distribution.
Create and work with vendors and retailers to create onsite signage, including hoarding graphics/signage, posters, banners, etc.
Oversee and maintain Marché Central’s social media and web presence including ongoing tracking and reporting.
Serve as the first point of contact for visitors to the Management Office, including answering questions in a friendly and professional manner and directing to the appropriate staff member.
Keep the office running smoothly at all times including order supplies, setting up meeting rooms, etc.
Plan and organize special events as needed.
Other related duties as assigned.


1 to 3 years’ related experience in marketing, social media and/or event coordination.
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or a related discipline is preferred.
Superior oral and written communication skills in both English and French.
Understanding of social media tools.
Ability to prioritize workload and handle competing priorities and deadlines.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and effectively adjust to change.
Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Adobe InDesign experience is considered an asset.
