We are searching for someone who enjoys taking on ownership and managing various construction projects. If you take pride in leading successful projects, this opportunity will provide you with ownership of site specific construction projects while maintaining the Facilities Maintenance & Operations team interests.
Why this role is important?
Your strong leadership skills will help lead our journeyman from a variety of trades, in completing successful site projects which will improve the patient experience for patients themselves, families and health care providers. This involves coordinating electricians, carpenters, locksmiths, painters and general maintenance workers by directing work as needed for site specific projects.
Your diverse experience in construction will prepare you to be involved in the coordination for construction projects for Fraser Health. Your ability to develop relationships and think creatively will help you in solving technical challenges and build partnerships with internal staff and external partners
As a Project Leader, you work may include the following:
Lead the planning and implementation of approved smaller or specialized projects from design to completion
Lead all aspects of a team of staff on project basis, and provide support for Senior Project Managers and Project Managers.
Coordinate the process of design development and contract preparation by liaising with clinical and project planners, consultants and various user groups for assigned projects
Review of working drawings for consistency with project scope, budget and project design schedule; tracking project charter, plans and objectives to maintain timelines and project deliverables
Carry out project plan according to project methodologies to ensure successful and coordinated completion of project components
Facilitate department knowledge of current and emerging facilities design and innovations through evidence-based design concepts, use design and construction research
Provide input in consultant selection, project tendering and various capital planning processes; supervises assigned staff as needed on a project by project basis.
Are you passionate about joining our team? We will be looking for you to have:
Diploma in Architectural and Building Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field
5 to 7 years' recent related experience managing, leading and directing facilities projects in a complex institutional environment
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
We are looking for a skilled leader who has the outstanding combination of Construction and Maintenance backgrounds to ensure that our construction activities accurately integrate with the site and operational needs.
This is a Regular Full Time opportunity based out of Surrey Memorial Hospital Annex Building , BC .
