Under the direction of the Director, Revenue and Receivables, the Manager, Revenue and Receivables is responsible for the efficient and effective management of the Hospital Accounts Receivables system by performing the following major functions:

Plans and directs the daily operations of all Accounts Receivable functions, including collections and cash receipts;
Provides oversight to the medical remuneration function, including establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the physician practice plans operating at the hospital;
Ensures the proper application of all legislative requirements for Federal, Provincial Acts and private insurance agencies;
Provides oversight to the monthly financial close and management analysis process;
Assists in the annual budget process;
Leads, coaches and mentors Accounts Receivable team;
Assists in the planning, development and implementation of Accounts Receivable computer systems, applications and enhancements;
Assists in the planning, development and implementation of internal controls over Accounts Receivables processes;
Keeps abreast of leading best practices in Accounts Receivable management, fosters a culture of continuous improvement.


Days, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Financial Management;
Professional Accounting designation – CPA and/or CFA, CA, CGA or CMA;
Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive experience in any of the following: Accounts Receivable, financial accounting, controllership, budget and forecasting including a minimum of three (3) years of experience leading a team
Experience in project management and change management, including knowledge of best practices and principles;
Experience with systems analysis and process improvement;
Experience in the application of internal controls, financial practices and procedures in an Oracle or other ERP environment;
Demonstrated expertise in advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables, complex data models, data mining etc.;
Demonstrated expert level skills in MS Office Suite, PowerPoint and Word;
Demonstrated analytical problem solving and teaching skills;
Demonstrated client-centered focus and commitment to the Vision, Mission, and Core Value of the department and of TOH;
Demonstrated effective business acumen and experience with and understanding of strategic and business planning methods, tools and processes in the provision of financial services to an organization;
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound professional judgment, resolve complex problems, and evaluate business risks;
Demonstrated ability to provide advice and support to cross-functional teams regarding financial and business processes while leading and motivating people to embrace financial stewardship;
Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy with diverse group of stakeholders;
Demonstrated effective presentation skills including the ability to present and discuss complex information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and gains understanding;
Demonstrated commitment to continued learning and proven track record of fostering culture of continuous improvement and team development.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with public sector organizations; healthcare experience considered an asset;
Experience with systems implementations;
Experience with budget and forecasting;
Experience with internal audits;
Experience and knowledge of Oracle;
Experience working in other administrative or clinical areas of a hospital: admitting and registration, patient flow, nursing etc.
Proficiency in speaking and comprehending both English and French.
