Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, the Communications Specialist is responsible for the creation of dynamic content to foster engagement with key stakeholder groups and representing a consistent, brand-aligned and positive organizational image through effective media and public relations strategies. The Specialist is a passionate writer who will apply their passion for storytelling to elevate the CN Tower’s profile and brand image among key audiences, leveraging media, social media, marketing communications and thought leadership strategies. Additionally, the Specialist will be responsible for preparing and distributing media materials, assisting in media event planning, pitching story ideas, finding and executing opportunities that will enable the CN Tower to elevate its brand and measure the efforts. This will include monitoring media trends and stories; research stakeholder positions and contribution to the development of plans that will support the CN Tower’s brand positioning, strengthen its reputation, reinforce its continued relevance and engage the local market, with a goal to encourage increased visitation during the off-season.

Post-secondary diploma or certificate in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism or equivalent experience is required. A minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of related experience in public relations, social media and/or marketing communication is required. Comprehensive understanding and familiarity with trends in marketing, journalism, public relations, social media, brand journalism, and thought leadership strategies are required. A high degree of French language proficiency is required.Advanced skills in the MS Office environment, specifically Microsoft Office Suite
