Velour Beauty is the pre-eminent name in the make-up industry when it comes to high-end luxurious false lashes. Launched in 2011, Velour was the first company to introduce the concept of 100% authentic mink lashes. Since then, Velour has been featured in several beauty publications and has expanded its client list to include A-list celebrities such as Beyoncé, Jessica Alba, Kate Upton and many others.

Velour has grown into an internationally recognized brand selling luxury lashes both online and in independent retailers globally including Sephora and Ulta! Velour’s mission and values have visibly evolved into advocating for confidence and sophistication in women.

In 2020, Velour has branched out into launching eye-centric cosmetics such as the Lash & Go Eyeliner which has quickly become a top seller at Sephora for liquid liners. Now establishing themselves as an innovative brand specializing in eye-centric cosmetics, Velour is looking to hire their first Director of Ecommerce to take DTC to the next level!

Requirements

DIRECTOR OF ECOMMERCE

We are looking for a strategic thinking ecommerce leader who has an excellent track record to driving results! Results ultimately mean Sales and Profitability! The ideal candidate cannot only project the goals, mission and strategy- they must also know how to execute on that strategy and drive Sales. This position will report directly to the CEO.

Essential Functions:
Drive site personalization and segmentation strategy to create a relevant, value-added, personal, and engaging customer experience
Ensure online merchandising is supported by best in class features in the areas of navigation, internal search, product set-up, and activation.
Achieve sales and margin targets by implementing technical and non-technical strategies and initiatives that will drive ecommerce traffic, conversion, retention, revenue, and profitability.
Own the creation and development of the D2C eCommerce strategy including defining and leading the CRM strategy, SEO & content strategy, overseeing UX/UI updates on web, promotion and content calendar to drive that strategy forward.
Plan and manage digital ads & SEM budget continuously improving on ROI; meet financial objectives through ongoing forecasting and results analysis; monitor attribution and analytics, with a focus on CPA, AOV, ROAS and LTV. Additional focus on meeting profitability targets.
Manage strategy, budget, and ongoing relationships with all D2C eCommerce vendors including (but not limited to) the site platform, a/b testing partners, review generation and management, and operational partners.
Own creation of email marketing calendar planning, email scheduling, and segmentation and deployment of email and mobile consumer messages.
Develop and own strategic high-level reporting recaps for management to communicate strategic goals, business performance and areas of opportunity with detailed action plans to optimize the strategy.
Ensure all site promotions or new products are properly set-up, scheduled and QA'd on site prior to launch to ensure accuracy, browser compatibility and highest quality user experience across Desktop, Mobile, Tablet.
Ensure Key Stakeholders are trained and aware of upcoming promotions and terms: Customer Service, Ops, Social Media, Design etc.
Partner with Operations to ensure inventory management is optimized and delivers on sales goals and brand strategic objectives.
Ensure overall financial targets and individual goals are set for all team members; review and management performance.
Strong awareness and understanding of key industry trends and competitors’ experiences. Provide quarterly recap of competitive analysis
Identify and evaluate growth opportunities through expansion into new channels, partnerships, platform upgrades, new features, new technologies and more.
Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements and company policies on the website usage, security and standards.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Exceptionally strong analytical skills with experience presenting and communicating findings to Leadership Team. Able to translate complex data into actionable and profitable marketing plans
Advanced knowledge in Google Analytics / GSuite / Ads Manager
Experience working with web developers / project management tools such as Smartsheet for e-comm projects
Advanced experience using Klaviyo Email Marketing Platform or similar
Able to see the big picture and maintain focus on sales and profitability
Solid project management and organizations skills
Strong business partnering and interpersonal skills
Organized, flexible and easily adaptable to changing conditions
Ability to work well in high pressure situations in order to meet deadlines
Ability to multitask and manage numerous simultaneous priorities
Envisions long-term market potential and business opportunities;
Extensive knowledge of the online environment. You'll understand when to action tasks yourself and when to delegate to experts.
Have a relentless focus on, and a passion for, traffic generation, conversion and customer retention

Additional Requirements:
Minimum of 10+ years ecommerce experience

Minimum of 7+ years of Shopify experience

CPG or Beauty Brand Experience specifically in the online/ecommerce channel

BA or BS in Marketing or related field

Can thrive in a fast paced and unpredictable environment
