London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) and St. Joseph’s Healthcare, London (St. Joseph’s) have a shared IT infrastructure and jointly act as a service provider for a number of regional and provincial Diagnostic Imaging Initiatives. Included are: Diagnostic Imaging Repository, Picture Archiving and Communications System and the Emergency Neuro Image Transfer Systems.

Reporting to Coordinator, The Picture Archiving & Communication System (PACS) and Diagnostic Imaging Repository Specialist analyses, implements, and maintains computer operation related to clinical images. The Specialist is responsible for system and workflow analysis, process re-design, development, testing, implementation, and support of computer applications hosted or supported by the Regional ITS DI-r/PACS program. The Specialist will also develop and deliver effective system related training.

Rate of Pay: $36.251 per hour - $45.313 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours/week

Duration of Contract: February 07, 2020 to May 09, 2021

Successful completion of a three (3) year community college diploma or a Bachelor degree in Medical Radiation Technology, other Health care related discipline or Computer Systems Technology or related field
Minimum five (5) years recent experience in Medical Imaging or Information Technology Services
Imaging Informatics graduate certificate, CIIP designation and/or project management program graduate preferred
Experience working with established clinical application systems: PACS, HIS/RIS/EHR, DI-r, Dicom or HL7
Knowledge of clinical workflows and application systems within a Digital Imaging environment
Advanced knowledge and understanding of Diagnostic Imaging processes, protocols and procedures and their application to all levels of users and external departments
Understanding of interconnected or integrated 3rd party solutions to and between the EMR RIS and PACS
Knowledge of the MIS guidelines and workload reporting
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and relate to the needs of all job levels
Excellent customer service and organizational skills
Must have and maintain a high level of technical expertise within area of responsibility
Experience in systems support or project management
Understanding of technology and how it can be applied to support clinical departments
Demonstrated ability to assimilate a large quantity of diverse information and apply analytical skills to problem identification, understanding and resolution
Strong skills in process-centric thinking
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing process re-design
Demonstrated strong ability to apply analytical skills to problem identification, understanding, and mapping solutions
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written
Demonstrated advanced ability to work effectively as a team member
Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision and provide direction to others
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities & changing demands that require attention to detail
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care, patient privacy and confidentiality
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis and provide on-call support
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC

Immunization Requirements:
Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step)
