The General Manager (â€œGMâ€) is responsible for the day to day operations and management about the warehouse business activities. As a member of the NLS management team, the GM also ensures that all tasks are completed in a safe and efficient manner. The General Manager and the team is accountable for meeting the service level agreement and develop annual budget for the facility. The facility is approximately 180,000 square feet with three shifts during weekdays and one shift on both days of the weekend.
Responsibilities The General Manager is responsible but not limited to: Employee Relations â€¢ Prepare, communicate and direct employees with all operational requirements â€¢ Manage, coach, mentor and develop operations team to achieve goals and provide performance feedback â€¢ Lead team engagement activities â€¢ Partner with Human Resources to build strong employee relations Customer Relations â€¢ Ensure superior performance is delivered to customers â€¢ Lead the team to ensure Service Level Agreements are being met â€¢ Maintain professional and courteous relationship with customers â€¢ Deliver effective presentations on the performance of the facility to the customers Operational Excellence â€¢ Lead the operations team to ensure key performance indicators (KPI) are met in a timely and cost-effective manner â€¢ Ensure warehouse space utilization to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations â€¢ Plan appropriate staffing requirement with the operations team to ensure objectives are met â€¢ Manage recruitment, training, corrective actions along with the Operations Manager as needed â€¢ Oversee the facility safety standards and results, which include a Joint Health & Safety Committee, ongoing training, regular site evaluations and addressing ongoing safety matters while implementing improvements Business Profitability â€¢ Responsible and accountable for the financial objectives of the facility which includes developing, planning, and execution of budget. â€¢ Monitor and audit facility purchasing process â€¢ Ensure accuracy of all necessary reports regarding facility operations
Required Qualifications â€¢ Must possess five (5) years of experience within the 3PL or manufacturing industry in a leadership role â€¢ Must have at least two (2) years of experience managing a P&L â€¢ Ability to coach, mentor and develop team while building strong relationships with clients and internal associates â€¢ Should have strong financial and analytical skills, along with the ability to develop/maintain a budget. â€¢ Must have strong interpersonal skills and be comfortable to effectively present information and respond to queries from management team, clients and employees. â€¢ Fundamental operating knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (PKMS & WMI) would be considered an asset. â€¢ Fashion retail experience in an Omni Channel fulfillment center an asset â€¢ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications such as Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint. Advanced Excel Skills are required. â€¢ Will be required to work long hours, some weekends and stat holidays as necessary, during peak seasons.
