As a market development manager, you support Desjardins’s strategic priorities by leading your department, tapping into the full market potential and meeting the needs and expectations of members and clients. You are responsible for the strategic and operational management of a team dedicated to selling financial products and services in a specific business line. You build and maintain long-term business relationships with members and clients in your line of business.

You draw up and monitor a business plan that addresses priorities, challenges and objectives. You ensure sector performance, and sound and prudent risk management in accordance with standards. You follow up on results. You draw on your ability to make quality decisions and drive results to effectively manage employees and your department’s performance.

You manage a team dedicated to members and clients. You oversee employees’ skills development and ensure high-quality service. The ability to build effective teams and develop talent is therefore essential.

You serve as coach for your team members and provide advisory services and specific recommendations that take the needs of members and clients into account. The complex work associated with your unit requires extensive knowledge of the organization and your line of business.

Caisse Desjardins de Beloeil Mont-Saint-Hilaire has its head office in Beloeil and serves 39,000 personal and business members. Its assets total $1.6 billion and its business volume is $3.7 billion (77% personal and 23% business), including $2.8 billion in on-balance sheets and $912 million in off-balance sheets. The caisse serves a market with strong business development potential. It has 95 employees working in 4 service centres in a non-unionized environment. It also has 5 automated service centres. The caisse is associated with Desjardins Business – Vallée du Richelieu-Yamaska, Vallée du Richelieu-Yamaska Signature Service and a Shared Services Centre.

Main responsibilities

Support your superior by assisting in the development of business strategies, in accordance with Desjardins Group’s strategic orientations and the unit’s challenges.
Ensure the quality of services and business relationships, and manage the member/client experience.
Implement and monitor the action plan to achieve targeted results.
Implement management and communication practices to facilitate talent acquisition and management, team synergy, and change management, in keeping with Desjardins Group’s values. Facilitate, coach, and motivate the team in order to develop skills, boost employee engagement, and increase accountability.
Implement and develop a competitive, profitable service offer for your sector that incorporates partnerships with other components in order to provide an exceptional member/client experience.
Ensure the efficiency and continuous improvement of processes, and boost profitability.
Promote the Desjardins brand and strengthen the organization’s roots in the community.
Promote the cooperative values of Desjardins Group.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or in a related field
At least eight years of experience in personal financial services, including three years managing sales activities for financial products and services

For a position at the Signature Service: Mutual funds representative certification and a Financial planning certificate issued by the Autorité des marchés financiers
