Academic Program Manager – Human Services, FSCS
The Academic Program Manager provides academic leadership and direction for both the Addictions and Mental Health Graduate Certificate Program as well as the Social Service Worker Diploma Program over the summer months. The incumbent will provide leadership and direction for both the students and faculty in these programs and will be responsible for advising students, making academic decisions, troubleshooting student registration, managing appeals, coordinating crisis management strategies, resolving conflict involving student-related conduct and academic performance issues and liaising with prospective students. The Academic Program Manager participates in the development and implementation of academic and student success initiatives such as student recruitment and retention, strategic enrolment management, provides support and mentorship for new part-time faculty to integrate them into the college environment and also participates in external meetings as appropriate in alignment with Humber’s strategic plan.
Candidates will have a minimum of a 4 year bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred along with 5 years of related experience including 3 years of teaching experience. Excellent listening skills, verbal and written communication skills are required. The ability to communicate and negotiate with people is essential. Computer literacy is also required including experience with software to support teaching and remote learning, research and administrative activities. Excellent judgement and problem solving skills are essential as is the ability to coordinate multiple program related tasks and projects.
