Position Summary: The CEDO will be responsible for performing RT exposures on various types of welds in Vessels , Piping and Structural components in a shop environment. They will also be responsible for assisting in developing films and participating in NDT related tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cassettes with films for completing the weld testing.
  • Assist in developing RT films by both processors and conventional methods.
  • Complete all logs required for the RT program.
  • Set up barriers and signage prior to executing the testing.
  • Demonstrate to the RT Level 2 Technician competency for testing the various welds.
  • Set up the exposure device according to the RT Procedure.
  • Ensure safe retrieval and storage of all components relating to RT testing returning them back to the secured storage location.
  • Perform all tasks in a manner consistent with the Radiation Safety Manual.
  • Participate in audits conducted by CNSC and other authorized agencies.
  • Report any issues and/or concerns to the Trades & Infrastructure Consultant.


  • 5+ years’ experience in the NDE industry, in particular RT.
  • CGSB certification would be an asset.
  • Experience inspecting vessels, piping and structural is required.
  • Experience with automatic film processing an asset.
  • Radiation safety experience is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Self-motivated, organized and able to work in a high pressure, deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent people and communication (verbal and written) skills. Both on the shop floor and in an office environment.
