Technical Payroll Analyst / Developer

ADP is hiring an experienced Back End Technical Payroll Analyst / Developer with demonstrated experience in building software solutions. The ideal developer will have Payroll / HCM systems experience. Seeking strong experience with JSON & APIs to build features, create payroll calculations, earnings, deductions, back end logic. We're looking for a technical payroll analyst/developer that can define payroll business rules using ADP's tools and technologies. Someone with a development background who has domain expertise in HCM / payroll is ideal.
Analyze feature maps, scenarios and user stories to understand new or enhanced payroll / tax processing requirements.
Develop JSON-based payroll / tax calculation policies that are structured, highly maintainable, well organized and documented.
Prepare spreadsheets of test data, test scenarios and test plans that ensure policies are calculating correctly prior to release.
Work with development partners to define system-to-system interactions.
Validate test results and calculations against product requirements.
Utilize JIRA, Confluence, Sequel Pro, MySQL, IntelliJ and other tools for analysis and development.
Participate in regular scrum team activities such as sprint planning, stand-ups, story refinement, and estimation.
Solid technical background with hands-on experience working with software applications and an understanding of how they are developed.
Experience creating complex spreadsheets, using advanced formulas.
Proficiency with unit testing, integration testing and automated testing using IntelliJ.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to get the job done.
Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to have:
Experience with HCM & Payroll software and background in deployment and/or maintenance of payroll systems.
Knowledge of advanced features of Excel and other Microsoft Office tools, such as lookups, pivot tables or VBA macros.
Experience working with JSON, XML or similar formats.
Agile product development experience.
Degree in Business, Computer Science, or equivalent.
Certification from the Canadian Payroll Association (PCP or CPM), or working towards one.
