Tybo Contracting Ltd. (Tybo) is a trusted civil contracting company based in Langley, B.C. and we work with some of the largest private development firms, as well as various civic and provincial government agencies. The majority of our work in based in the Metro Vancouver Area with various larger projects throughout the province. Currently, an opportunity exists for an experienced Project Manager to join our hands-on management team of highly skilled, ambitious and loyal personnel. If you have proven working experience in Civil Construction, are a strong leader who takes ownership of ones work and is a solid communicator then Tybo would like to hear from you.
Your key responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to:
Attending job site and project meetings
Proposals, Submittals, Change Orders, Material ordering, & RFI's
Developing and maintaining client relationships
Monitor and report on the profitability and performance of projects
Facilitate and oversee project start-up & close out procedures including: review of tender documents, drawings and contract, subcontractor negotiations, creating and maintaining project schedules
Provide knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
Preparation of the project schedule
Review the project plans and specifications and comment on the building design, scheduling, possible cost savings measures and potential construction problems.
Assist estimator in preparation of project budget
Prepare the general conditions budget
Assist in assembling the job site office and equipment requirements
Have confidence in own ability to intelligently communicate with design team/client as well as effectively lead the trades
Expedite all shop drawings and approvals
Monitor and maintain the project construction schedule on a weekly basis
Raise and discuss relevant issues at the job site meetings. Prepare & issue minutes of all site meetings

Ensure safety is discussed at every formal meeting.
Hold Monthly Safety Meeting with Safety Coordinator to discuss direction
Follow up on Stats and ways to reduce accidents
Discuss Trends of F.A.s and Near Misses
Direct innovation in safety
Attend monthly Joint Occupational Safety Meetings
Assist supers and CSO/ Coordinator in accident investigations when required.
Following up on completed investigations
Be a part of the major safety investigations including any that require insurance claims
Double check that all Subcontractors have been vetted and signed off on Tybo Safety policy.
Ensuring sites are compliant with all notification and permits like NOP, 30m33, Call Ones, Safety board requirements, WorkSafeBC Requirements etc.
Randomly check on compliance of Tybo and Subcontractors on site via inspections.
Confirm supers have safety paperwork completed as per the roles.
Required to have 1 formal site inspection monthly

Coordinate with HR Manager to ensure reviews are being completed properly and on time as per procedure.
Assist VPOC in Reviewing superintendents yearly for improvement or accolades including possible wage increases.
Review wages with Supers in and after Construction meeting as per the employee rates and reviews.
Make sure that all wage increases are reviewed and signed off on for payroll by Monday start of new pay period.
Review industry standards and rates to ensure we are better than the average competitor.
Identify new sources of people and solidify current sources
Assist in Tybo University development
Ensure HR standards are being upheld by all employees working in that position.
Discuss hiring and firing with HR and Supers when required.
Discuss unwanted behavior of field staff with Supers.
Discuss with VP of Construction trends and uncharacteristic behaviour from supervisors
Understand proper hiring and termination procedures as per labour board regulations
AP/AR and Payroll
Sit in on monthly cost reviews with Supers that are required
Review job costs and identify problem areas
Ensure all (electronic) paperwork is flowing correctly, including Time sheets, Extra Work, Quantities, Invoices. All items in this section should be no more than 3 days old.
Have a meeting with accounting once a month to discuss direction and ways of getting better regarding field.
Ensure coding is correct by spot checking time sheets and invoicing
Ensure Jonas is being used to its fullest and working correctly from the field aspect.
Review all schedules via the master schedule and ensure it is updated for Monday morning by 9 am.
Review master schedule with VPOC at 9am
Ensure all superintendents have updated their working schedules for their jobs.
Discuss with Estimating and VP of Construction as to when how much work will be required coming up.
Assist with crew schedules and requirements for the job.
Assist superintendents with Identifying critical path items and ensuring proper planning for such.
Job Start Up and Close Out
Attend Start up and Close out meetings for all projects
Help with crew placement prior to job start ups.
Ensure projects are started properly with the proper requirements keeping the KPI time in mind.
Follow up on Substantial Completion dates, as builts, QC packages as required and push close outs.
