We are looking for a dynamic, organized, and passionate individual for the role of Vice President, Commercial Operations in the GTA and Toronto. Reporting to the Area President(s), this role will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of exceptional client service with the emphasis on professionalism and consistency within the commercial department, focusing on maximizing both effectiveness of processes and efficiencies in procedures.
GTA region consists of four main offices – Markham, Mississauga, and two downtown Toronto branches. This role has responsibility for 7 direct reports and roughly 80 indirect reports across all offices.
Key Job Responsibilities
Responsible for establishing and monitoring service standards for all branches within their scope
Responsible for ensuring full utilization and adoption of the Gallagher Client Driven Service model with all service teams within their scope
Responsible for maximizing productivity and increasing performance statistics of the service staff
Responsible for the utilization of all Gallagher systems by staff to maximize process efficiencies within the branches within their scope
Provide guidance and support to Client Service Leaders and staff
In collaboration with Area President(s), build and maintain a sustainable workplace culture of respect, fairness, collaboration and inclusiveness within respective branches
Attend insurer meetings and events as required
Lead in hiring of new service staff ensuring they meet the qualifications of the position
Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of benchmark initiatives within the service department
Establish relationships with regional carrier partners to facilitate ease of doing business
Responsible for notification to staff of all technical, insurer and product updates/changes
Responsible for communication with team of all updates from National Operations Team
Escalation point for carrier interaction on hard to place risks or contentious service/renewal issues
Work with the National Operations to establish key metrics to measure performance for Commercial Client Service Managers, Associates and other operational roles within the business
Working in conjunction with the Standards of Excellence leader, measure metrics across respective region and operationalize file review/audit process as check and balance
Key contact for the National Compliance Officer with respect to compliance concerns
Assist in the integration of new offices/acquisitions for branches within their scope
Take a leadership role within Ontario and be an active participant in meetings
Work with the Area President(s) to identify key growth strategies and white space opportunities within the existing book of business
Responsible for the development, negotiation, implementation and renewal of new and existing programs with Commercial departments
Responsible for the development and mentoring of Client Service Leaders /Team Leads to identify and develop succession plans within the Region
Educational and Experience Requirements
Minimum of 10 years commercial lines experience – brokerage experience an asset
Minimum of 7 years previous talent management experience required
Demonstrated ability to set goals and initiatives and deliver desired results
University or College degree and asset
CIP/FCIP/CRM an asset
RIBO License is required
Proven experience with workflow development and implementation required
Demonstrated and proven results in employee development
Strong analysis and decision making ability
Highly organized and strong time management skills
Strong verbal and communication skills
Demonstrated experience in leading change and building strategic relations
Strong influencing and negotiation skills
Well versed in computer and software skills (previous EPIC experience an asset)
Must be able to travel to other branch offices on regular basis
