DEPARTMENT: Retail Operations

HOURS: 8AM to 4:30PM

Responsible to the Director, Dealer Support to drive profitable growth for Home Hardware and our Dealers by supporting the Retail Operations team and Dealers in achieving strategic goals.

Proactively deliver sales and operational insights by analyzing and synthesizing data from multiple sources (syndicated data, market research, retailer POS, internal data sources, etc.).

Provide the Retail Operations team and Dealers with models to aid understanding and targeting store results.

Own the delivery of insights and store performance for the Retail Operations team, making recommendations for implementing improvements to current store level sales tactics, operational best practices and market share opportunities. Distill key messages through storytelling to various stakeholders.

Identify data quality issues and work closely with the Data Governance Office and IT Enterprise Analytics teams by implementing measurable improvements on behalf of the Retail Operations team.

Understand business requirements and collaborate with the IT Enterprise Analytics team to provide requirements for the development of high business value reports and dashboards.

Turn data analytics into meaningful and actionable sales and operational insights.

Create and maintain statistically robust models and use standard analysis, reports and model deployment based on the relevant information to ensure maximum benefit.

College / University diploma or degree in Business preferred, with minimum 3 years of analytic experience within the retail or a related industry.

Advanced knowledge of syndicated third-party data (Nielsen, Retailer POS, Stats Can systems).

Analytical problem solver with significant real-world experience in forecasting and statistical modeling.

Demonstrated experience using BI tools (such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.)

Advanced knowledge of MS Office, specifically expert level knowledge of Excel. Capable of learning new programs quickly.

Strong multi-tasker who can work independently and in a team environment.

Solid business acumen and communication skills, both written and verbal.

Effective analytic storytelling through presentation of insights in a clear, coherent and compelling format.

Retail experience and familiarity with Hardware / Lumber and Building Material industries an asset.
