We have an exciting opportunity within the Renal Transplant Program at the University of Alberta Hospital. The Administrative Support IV – Renal Transplant Program is responsible for scheduling appointments, tests, therapies and consultations. The Administrative Support IV maintains patient records, is responsible for transcribing physician orders and entering appointments into Connect Care, telehealth, database, answering the clinic telephone, redirecting patient calls as necessary, obtaining test results from various databases including Netcare, compiling routine and ad hoc statistics, and interacting appropriately with internal/ external contacts. Provides support to the programs by filing, collecting, updating and maintaining historical data. Ability to be flexible, prioritize different tasks and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Other responsibilities include successfully completing projects under tight time lines and with frequent interruptions.
As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.

Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Medical terminology, and experience within medical/hospital setting is required. Strong proof reading and typing skills are required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organization and time management skills. Ability to work independently with minimal direction in a rapidly changing environment and be an effective team player is essential. Required to take and distribute minutes for clinical meetings.
Experience with Connect Care, Netcare, e-Clinician, NIS (Nephrology Information System), and OTTR is preferred.
