A key member of the plant management team, this position will lead the financial planning and analysis, cost accounting, and general accounting functions. Reporting directly to the Vice-President of Finance, the position assumes the responsibility for the integrity of plant financial reporting and internal control. Although a leadership role, this position is a hands-on, working manager function with individual contributor requirements as well as leadership responsibilities. The Controller ensures proper recording and reporting of financial and appropriate non-financial data to all internal and external users.

Prepare financial statements for three legal entities.
Review and analyze financial data.
Prepare and/or review local and corporate reports.
Responsible for accurate reporting under US GAAP and Canadian GAAP.
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to operating team to execute on Company’s strategic initiatives.
Analyze business results to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce cost.
Prepare and review financial projections for projects and capital expenditures as required
Direct and coordinate the budget and forecasting cycle activities for two legal entities.
Maintain and improve cost accounting system for manufactured product. Establish and monitor product standard costs.
Administration of external and internal audits, and financial statement reviews.

Four years of University in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting.
Professional accounting designation is required.
Leadership and/or management courses preferred.

7+ years of progressive experience in a General Accounting management position.
3 + years performing accounting and financial analysis in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated leadership capability.
Advanced organizational and problem-solving skills are required.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including Lean and Continuous Improvement principles.
Strong understanding of functional operations such as Human Resources, MIS, PPIC, Purchasing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong knowledge of financial and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
High level of accuracy, attention to detail and initiative
Problem analysis and resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
Strong technical knowledge of Microsoft Office
