The Pharmacist I will play a key role in providing patients with quality health care and will have the opportunity to learn and grow within an inter-professional team. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems. Active participation in patient care rounds and liaising with members of the health care team. Documentation of clinical interventions for expected and real outcomes. Drug stewardship and application of evidence based medication related recommendations for the management of various medical conditions. Utilizing relevant and appropriate resources available within Alberta Health Services’ for drug information queries. Preceptorship and mentoring of pharmacy students, residents and other pharmacists. As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Completion of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Pharmacy related experience in a hospital setting or in direct patient care providing comprehensive medication management services. Experience with computerized medication order entry, IV admixture programs and different drug distribution system such as unit dose and automated dispensing cabinets preferred.
Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) from the Alberta College of Pharmacists is an asset; successful candidates without APA will be expected to obtain it within 1 year of commencing in this position. Completion of a Canadian accredited pharmacy residency program. Active membership with the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists (CSHP). Minimum 2 years Clinical Pharmacist experience within the last three years. Experience with a multi-disciplinary patient care team preferred.
