Human Resources Advisor (Temporary/Pending)

Acden Holdings is currently accepting applications for one (1) Temporary Human Resources Advisor to support its corporate Human Resources department, pending the award of a new contract. This one-year term position would be based out of the Acden Taiganova Head Office in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The position would primarily consist of Monday to Friday, 8-hour days with early mornings and evenings; must be available to work weekends when needed.

With continued growth, we are seeking an experienced professional to join our team. The HR Advisor reports directly to the Human Resources Manager.
In this role you will be accountable to provide employee relations support, leadership training, benefits and disability coordination and administration, and recruitment in a timely, intuitive and efficient manner. Your responsibilities will also include corporate risk management and maintaining relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
In the Employee Relations function you will meet with business unit leaders and keep abreast of business activities to address current and future employee relations issues. You will demonstrate active listening and critical thinking to develop options for issue resolution, as well as deliver those options and other advice using timely communication and careful consideration. You will be a subject matter expert and continuous learner on corporate HR policies and procedures as well as applicable governing laws and regulations and be able to deliver that information effectively and creatively. Identifying trends, you will develop and facilitate various relevant soft-skill training courses for supervisors and employees on a regular basis, both at our head office and through site visits.
In the Benefits and Disability function you will analyse and track employee changes and other flowing documentation to identify benefits and disability administration as required. You will also correspond with insurance brokers/agencies to address employee issues, coordinate claims, stay apprised of active leaves and coordinate with payroll regarding employee premium payments as well as address collections/non-payment. You will also collaborate with the in-house Occupational Injury/Illness Disability Management Specialist where optimal.
In the Recruitment function you will be responsible for full-cycle recruitment from both a tactile and strategic perspective including job description review through to advertisement building and sourcing, screening and selecting qualified candidates. You will facilitate interview processes and be responsible for reviewing interview performance with managers. You will follow through to reference and credential checks, drafting offers, and post-offer activities through to orientation facilitation.
As the ideal candidate, you will possess at minimum a Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources and 5 years of HR Advisor experience. CPHR (Chartered Professional in Human Resources) designation is an asset. Advanced computer literacy is a must, as we are a highly digital department. Strong skills with Microsoft Office Word and Excel, HRIS systems, and a minimum of 60 WPM typing speed are required. As the successful candidate, you will have excellent prioritizing skills and ability to balance multiple demands, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation and active listening skills. As the HR Advisor, you will have a high degree of accuracy, strong grammar/spelling, efficiency minded yet quality oriented and the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
