The Human Resources Fabrication Administrator acts as the liaison for all Fabrication employees pertaining to day-to-day operations of the Human Resources functions and duties.
Displays a commitment to Waiward’s incident-free vision, values, and culture;
Assists in the development and alignment of Human Resources strategies with the organization’s goals;
Effectively act as the liaison for all Fabrication employees;
Assist employees and supervisors with all HR related inquiries;
Provides notifications to necessary parties for Fabrication operation hires, terminations, and wage or position related changes;
Communicates regularly with Payroll regarding requests and clarification;
Collaborate with HSE pertaining to employee related matters (incidents, training, fit-to-work tests, etc.);
Inputting weekly Foreman attendance sheets;
Ensures manpower requirements are fulfilled as identified by the Shop Operations Manager;
Coordinates Fabrication employee on-boarding;
Coordinates and maintains Temporary Foreign Worker (TFW) documentation;
Tracks all TFW documentation within our internal database;
Assists with the management of the TFW program and provides support to employees to obtain their permanent residency;
Prepares and delivers disciplinary action documentation for Fabrication employees;
Updates and distributes operational statistics;
Weekly Seniority Report;
Conducts Exit Interviews to track and determine reasons for employment separation;
May perform other related duties as assigned.
Degree and/or Diploma in Human Resources or equivalent;
1 to 2 years working within a Generalist type role;
Experience working within a unionized environment is required;
Must possess tact, diplomacy and the ability to maintain confidentiality;
Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills that are complimented by effective interpersonal, oral and written communication;
Highly motivated with the ability to work within a fast paced environment and maintain a high volume workload;
Current and up to date knowledge of Employment Standards, and Human Rights legislations;
Ability to problem solve;
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees;
A team player with strong work ethic who is able to work independently;
Passionate with regards to creating and maintaining a positive employee experience at Waiward;
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
The incumbent is required to work in an office environment with moderate noise. This job may require the incumbent to walk stairs; be outside in inclement weather (slippery surfaces and cold); carrying objects, driving and being exposed to normal office routines.
The incumbent is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal for extended periods of time; and extensive reading. The incumbent is also required to stand and sit for extended periods of time.
