The Opportunity
The technical rotating equipment (outside) sales specialist for Wajax will primarily be responsible for driving sales of our Pump & Filtration portfolios as well as other products / services to various industries and markets. Accountable/responsible for growing regional product sales revenues within Top industry accounts. Develop a sales strategy and plan, including customer target accounts, prospecting, sales leads, follow-ups and maintain a strong relationship with existing customers. Retain and grow business relationships with accounts by proactively identifying opportunities, presenting innovative solutions, and overcoming obstacles with drive, passion and resilience.
The Role
- Must have a good understanding of rotating equipment requirements / specifications like API, ANSI and others.
- Previous experience selling rotating equipment packages, repairs, upgrade’s and commission/startup services.
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in mechanical equipment; training in assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting of pumps; experience in pulp & paper mills, power plants, chemical, oil & gas, steel, mining & minerals.
- Display high degree of independence and drive to meet goals, targets and objectives.
- Willingness to travel within the territory up to 75% of the time
- Source new clients, conduct sales and cold calls, follow up on leads and referrals to present product solutions and increase sales in assigned
- Identify and build relationships with decision makers within existing accounts while creating an on-going relationship strategy to grow the territory
- Coordinate with product experts to identify and capitalize on expansion and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
- Conduct follow up’s with customers on orders, quotes and service requested; undertake activities to secure the sale, such as sourcing of competitor information, analysis of competitor product offerings and applications.
- Develop proposals and quotes based upon client needs, specifications, and product offerings with Inside sales and ERS (engineered repaired services) teams .
- Produce weekly market activity reports and update activities on CRM (Salesforce)
The Candidate
- Education: Bachelor’s degree / College Diploma, Technical Engineering preferred
- Work Experience: Minimum 4 years with a proven track record in attaining/exceeding account management targets and sales goals through the repair and supply of rotating equipment such as process pumps, pump packages as well as parts , instrumentation and process filtration.
- Knowledge: Leadership level industry experience and knowledge of broad industry sectors to provide product selection, fitment as well as data and details to the customer base. Must have a good understanding of rotating equipment requirements / specifications like API, ANSI and other.
- Proficiency: Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
