Do you have what it takes?

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Purchasing Support person is an important part of our Purchasing Department. This role requires participation in the day to day responsibilities of our procurement team, and provides support to various business units.

Core Duties:

  • Entering Purchase Orders into the system
  • Generating material releases to vendors
  • Generate and process internal warehouse transfers
  • Process all Production Purchase Orders to outside vendors from start to finish
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate replacement costing in system with guidance from buyers
  • Generate slow moving and excess inventory lists with guidance from buyers to be presented to sales weekly
  • Tracking vendor deliveries and assessing on time performance
  • Work as liaison between sales, trucking and operations on incoming material
  • Provide periodic inventory and materials reporting and analysis to ensure validity on inventory data
  • Verifying vendor paperwork for accuracy against Salit purchase orders
  • Perform inventory adjustments as per guidance from Sr. Buyers as required
  • Perform general filing and maintenance of vendor correspondence including purchase orders
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Education/Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration or a related field considered an asset
  • Minimum 2 years experience in an administrative role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and willingness to advance your knowledge
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is a benefit
  • A desire to learn to use reporting tools to analyze complex information
