Bilingual e-Learning / Instructional Design Specialist

Ottawa or Vancouver

6 – 12 month term

The Bilingual e-Learning / Instructional Design Specialist is responsible for the creation of high-quality education products and services designed to meet the professional development needs of the Canadian green building industry. This position administers CaGBC’s eLearning platforms and contributes to the development and delivery of education products and services. This position also assists with the Education & Training Department’s market engagement and quality assurance initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the operations of CaGBC’s Learning Management System (Moodle) and web conference platform (Adobe Connect)
  • Cultivate and maintain a pipeline of opportunities with industry, corporate and commercial sectors, and government for educational services and guide efforts to secure business
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of CaGBC’s annual online course delivery schedule, including the recruitment, contracts and orientations with instructors and hosts
  • Transition course content and education resource materials to e-Learning platforms (i.e. prepare online course content and education resources for delivery via Moodle and Adobe Connect) and into formats suitable for in-person deliveries
  • Ensure the adherence of course development to recognized instructional design principles
  • Support the sourcing of content and subject matter experts (SMEs) for new course development and updates; negotiate and finalize contracts with subject matter experts (SMEs)
  • Set and maintain quality standards for online course interfaces (i.e. Moodle course structures; Adobe Connect virtual classrooms)

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years’ related experience
  • Post-secondary education in related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Specialized certification in adult education and training (e.g. CTDP) is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience administering a Learning Management System and web conference platform
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and practice in, recognized instructional design principles
  • Experience in project managing the development and delivery of education programs, including collaboration with subject matter experts and delivery partners as well as the creation of education content, resources and marketing materials
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingualism (English & French) is required
