As a member of the TGH Gift & Health Shop, the MERCHANDISING TECHNICIAN is responsible for maintaining responsibility for ordering, receiving, and pricing items for the Gift and Health Shop.
Specific responsibilities include ordering, receiving, and pricing compression stockings and taking measurement of customers for appropriate compression stocking fitting. The Technician may be required to visit various nursing units within the UHN group of hospitals to conduct the fittings.
The individual also performs merchandising and cashier functions; organizing revenue-generating promotions to attract customer interest; coordinating the return of stale-dated merchandise and other products; communicating with other Pharmacy department personnel; performing technical functions in support of the Gift Shop.
The successful candidate may be required to perform cross functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned or requested across hospital sites.
Grade 12 or recognized equivalent
One (1) year related merchandising experience preferably in the healthcare industry
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills
Good organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of Pharmacy operations, practices and regulations an asset
Basic Excel skills
Six months experience in a sales role
