Department Overview

TD Asset Management (TDAM) is a highly diversified North American investment management firm with leading market positions in active, quantitative and passive portfolio management. The firm serves a large and diversified client base including pension funds, corporations, institutions, endowments, foundations and high net worth individuals. TDAM also offers private money management services and manages retail mutual funds.

TDAM Investment Risk Management Group provides a wide range of services in the area of investment risk, performance measurement and investment analytics.

TDAM Investment Risk Management’s approach to investment analytics is highly comprehensive in nature. The department is committed to continuous product development that supports its robust, customizable investment analytics system. It provides high levels of data integration, calculation and reporting for institutional clients.

Job Description

Working as part of a team, the Investment Risk Analyst provides timely and accurate production of risk analytics, attribution and performance reports. This includes reconciliation of data and evaluation and verification of daily, monthly and quarterly returns.

Flexibility with regard to job accountabilities will be needed, as the candidate will be working with a small team and jobs will be assigned, so as to maximize efficiency.

Job Requirements

Main job functions include:
Produces monthly/quarterly performance and risk measurement reports.
Produces ad hoc reports including attribution analysis and executive summaries.
Ensures the returns generated by the attribution system are accurate by monitoring the data downloads for potential data problems. Investigate discrepancies and confirm or correct data.
Provides specialized reporting for high value clients.
Prepares presentation packages for executives.
Liaise with other areas of TDAM to facilitate investigation and resolution of performance issues.
Acts as a team player and contributes to the continuous improvement of client servicing and productivity within the group.
Participates in team meetings, division and business information sessions to ensure knowledge of initiatives and issues is current. Shares knowledge and learning with the team.
