About this Job:
We are seeking a DevOps Lead Engineer who will lead the way for our DevOps environment. They will be responsible for implementing best practices and corporate standard as well the coordination and implementation of DevOps initiatives. To be successful, one must effectively communicate with our development and operations team to orchestrate the creation of solutions that are secure, scalable and robust. The responsibilities include building a process for automation as well as contributing to the development of internal tools to achieve operational efficiency.

Manage a team of System Administrators and Database Administrators to build, maintain and monitor multiple environments.

Manage new system implementations from design through to production and distribution.
You’ll have the following experience:
Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
5+ years of Cloud Architecture experience, AWS an asset
5+ years of experience with OS System Administration (Linux, Windows)
5+ years of experience with Network Administration (Linux, Windows)
Hands on experience with build and CI/CD/CT technologies
Hands-on experience in log management tools
Hands on experience with Web Application Server like WebLogic, Apache, JBoss
Hands on experience with Amazon Web Services
Hands on experience in database technologies like MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Aurora
Hands on experience with monitoring tools like Zabbix
Hands on experience with RESTful APIs
Experience supporting Deployments and participate in the design of deployment automation
Experience supporting System Recovery and Disaster Recovery Planning and Execution
Minimum 2 years of experience supporting and using Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence
Ability to learn and understand new toolsets and products quickly
Solid understanding of the Networking, Unix Administration and Security
Solution-focused, takes initiative to work effectively within established guidelines
Strong organizational, time-management and analytical skills
Able to multi-task and flourish in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment
Strong interpersonal relationship building and listening skills
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Excellent written / verbal communication and professional maturity
Solid knowledge of MS Office
Manage a team of System Administrators and Database Administrators to build, maintain and monitor multiple environments
Assigning features and tasks to team members during projects and for post-production support
Mentoring of peers on project solution design, best practices, technological approaches, etc.
Exploring new innovations and technologies for future projects
Interfaces with industry on current trends in business and information technology
Provide feedback to the business about projects and initiatives that affect or need to be supported by the current operating environment
Participate in the design of highly available, secure and fault tolerant solutions for applications and services in the cloud
Participate in the design of solutions to meet the demands of internal and external clients
Continually look for areas of optimization and improvement to improve solutions, remove risk, and reduce cost in our applications and services
DevOps Operations (30%)
Administer, monitor, and deploy systems and services on Unix and cloud per internal standards, external accrediting agency standards and legal requirements
Help lead initiatives for upgrading and scaling our systems to improve availability, reliability, and performance
Collaborating with technical leads to integrate an end-to-end design that's well documented
Owning our production platform and keeping it healthy and stable
Work closely with other leads to analyze and implement branching strategies and subsequently implement Build and Deploy automation
Responsible for supporting and maintaining the versions across the environments
To implement monitoring solutions that identify both system bottlenecks and production issues
Provide third level support that meets the defined IT service levels and standards, and to meet or surpass business and customer expectations.
Compliance, Risk Management (20%)
Develop policies and standards following industry best practices as it relates to security and application architecture
Adhere to Peoples Payments and Peoples Group guidelines
Participate in internal and external audits as necessary
