The Business Analyst has responsibility to advise and assist in execution of department level forecasting and replenishment strategies for both core and non-core products ensuring consistent and accurate execution by the forecast analyst and replenishment analyst. The analyst will determine and maintain system parameters that drive forecasting parameters and safety stock coverage. As the Subject Matter Expert in Supply Chain principles and having an in depth knowledge of SAP, the Business Analyst will be accountable for assisting the IPR Manager with training new hires, and will participate in and/or lead continuous process improvement initiatives. The Business Analyst will also be expected to deliver complex analytics to support business objectives.
Be seen as the active lead Analyst on the team, be the visible "go-to" person for direction on day to day activities for Replenishment and Forecast Analysts.
Sets department level replenishment policies ensuring all areas are able to meet inventory and service level metrics
Provide process oversight for various forecasting and replenishment procedures to ensure high quality process outputs
Acts as the Lead of the department when Manager is unavailable.
Perform complex analytics and deliver recommendations based on sound Supply Chain principles.
Manage "core" inventory strategy for their departments including maintaining SAP system parameters
Recommend and assist in the implementation of best practices within the team.
Maintain the Forecasting & Replenishment profiles for all articles within their functional area.
Collaborate with the Merchandise Team to ensure appropriate load in strategy for new product launches and seasonal re-sets.
Provide key reporting and tactical support to IPR, Merchandising, Logistics and Senior Management and track Key Performance Indicators on a weekly, monthly quarterly and annual basis, including store/DC.
Coordinate the activities of analysts in their functional area to support large events .
Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions.
Provide SAP user guidance and expertise to the IPR Team.
On-board new Replenishment and Forecast Analysts with IPR process and SAP training.
Represent the IPR group as Subject Matter Experts in Supply Chain initiatives and projects.
Internal Candidates: Must fulfill minimum time-in-position (1 year) and performance management code requirements (M+, Meets Expectations and Consistently Demonstrates)
5+ years of analytical experience (ideally in a retail environment) with emphasis on inventory management, forecasting, demand management and/or replenishment.
University or College Degree in business or engineering will be considered as a preferred qualification
SAP knowledge (Retail or Manufacturing) is required.
Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and/or MS Access
Experience in project management an asset
Strong analytical skills with the ability to extrapolate pertinent information from various sources (reports and spreadsheets) and analyze data for recommendations.
Experience with financial analysis and quantitative skills, including ability to produce and review sales analysis (turns, sales, gross margin, etc.) and other analytical techniques to assist in making key forecast and replenishment decisions.
