The Position:

We’re looking for a full-time, permanent Divisional Controller, supporting the Divisional President and providing required financial reporting into the Corporate Controller at the Head Office of the TSX-listed company.


  • Ownership of all Divisional processes and outputs linked to monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, analysis, commentary, and reviews including profitability analysis per job/project
  • Ensure quality financial information and data accuracy is used by the business for decision-making and that potential risks and opportunities are anticipated and understood
  • Establish and issue financial and operating metrics and KPI’s
  • Present description and analysis of variance in results versus budgets and prior periods, including Income Statement, Working Capital and Free Cash Flow
  • Manage accounting operations for business unit, including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Collections, Account Payable & Payroll ensuring adherence to accounting standards and disclosure requirements
  • Participate in operational improvement programs in partnership with key operations managers
  • Support with corporate acquisitions and/or integration of corporate acquisitions
  • Ensure internal control requirements within the business unit are met including reconciliations to bank accounts and underlying CRM systems as well as appropriate review of journal entries
  • Proactively manage external audits as it relates to the Division and act on follow-up items, including review of tax returns
  • Actively participate in the bid process for new business, or customer contract renewals, including responsibility for financial modeling and support for pricing decisions
  • Comply with local, provincial, and federal tax reporting requirements and filings (including payroll and sales taxes)
  • Support in coaching and developing the division’s finance team, and proactively engage with rest of the company’s stakeholders
  • Assist with any special projects or Ad Hoc Requests of the President or Head Office Controller


  • 7+ years experience working in full-cycle accounting, preferably within the security industry, an entrepreneurial organization and/or a publicly listed (e.g. TSX) company
  • CPA/CA/CMA with a “hands-on” attitude
  • Strong financial control/analysis background

Ideally, experience with

3. Ability to deal effectively with multiple priorities simultaneously and be able to set priorities to meet deadlines

4. Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with all levels of management and clients

5. Experience with IFRS

6. Advanced skills with MS Excel
