Position Overview:
The Marketing Content Specialist is responsible for creating compelling and engaging content in support of Connect First Credit Union (CFCU) and our four divisional brands. This role implements a content marketing strategy that includes content creation, curation, distribution and audience engagement through social media, websites, email, digital marketing efforts and member experience channels. The content generated influences, motivates and inspires Connect First’s members and stakeholders to engage positively with the brands in support of the organization’s strategic goals, with the end goal of driving awareness, member acquisition and member retention. They employ a savvy use of editorial and testing data to increase online traffic, conversion and sharing of the organization’s content. Reporting to the Manager, Digital Marketing, this role is directly responsible for content generation, content implementation and audience engagement for the organization’s email marketing and social media efforts, including community sponsorships and corporate messaging. This role is part of a dynamic, energetic, creative, and collaborative marketing and community team who portray Connect First’s values each day.

Key Accountabilities:
Develops engaging, relevant content for implementation in print, marketing programs, campaigns, community engagement and across digital channels, including websites, search engines, email marketing, online communication, social media and digital sales tools.
Leads the writing, fact-checking, editing and proofing of content for marketing and external communications that reflect the appropriate tone and voice of CFCU and our divisional brands.
Builds on and manages our social media voice. Leverages listening tools to proactively build and engage new audiences, mitigate and respond to organizational reputational risks, deliver competitive insights and recommend ways to enhance and grow our online social presence and networks.
Collaborates on development and executes an editorial calendar and content program for email, social media and the front-end websites for CFCU and our divisions in alignment with lines of business strategies.
Develops and schedules digital content (e.g. social media, email marketing, website, blogs, press releases).
Plays an active role in generating real-time, relevant and brand supportive content on all community partnerships aligned to the overall social and email content strategies.
Lead all aspects of communication across social media platforms through regular posts, daily monitoring and customer response.
Collaborating with the marketing team, identifies areas to improve and optimize content for search engines, sales leads generation and to grow email subscriber base based on analytics results.
Working with internal stakeholders, researches a content subject, identifies interesting angles and crafts accurate, engaging content in support of financial products and services appropriate to identified target markets and channels.
In collaboration with Manager, Digital Marketing and regional stakeholders, contributes to the research and design of the annual online communication plan and budget and develops supporting marketing and communication content in alignment with agreed business goals and objectives.
Participates and manages specific projects and initiatives as required.
Assists in external-facing events, presentations, sponsorships and community involvement initiatives.
Assists with proposal production tasks such as editing, formatting, printing, packaging and submission.

Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
4+ years of experience in marketing or communications
Proven skills in online, email marketing, and social media content development and program execution, including writing to maximize search engine results and click results and online community engagement.
Competency in the use of online content scheduling, listening and audience engagement tools for email marketing and social media.
Strong understanding of marketing concepts in the context of content creation.
Working towards or completed a certificate, diploma, degree or designation program.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
