Seniors Action Quebec is looking for a Project Coordinator to work with our Executive Director in this small but quickly growing not-for-profit that looks to improve the quality of life for English- speaking seniors in the province of Quebec.

We work with community groups, researchers, government and media to identify challenges our community faces, and to promote possible solutions.We are working towards building a strong network of stakeholders to work together to improve the day-to-day life of our community.

Position description:

Working with the Executive Director the Project Coordinator will be the lead for our Resilience Training for Seniors Project - working with our member organizations across the regions of Quebec.

SAQ is building a series of resilience training modules designed to teach seniors skills to combat feelings of isolation and vulnerability.
*
*
The coordinator would lead the development of these modules and travel to the regional partners to assist in the training.

Responsibilities and Duties:
*
*

  • Work with experts in the development of online resources to support the development of Resilience Training modules.
  • Work with partner organizations to ensure the delivery of the modules to the community
  • Coordinate with external suppliers such as resilience experts and module designers
  • Travel to the regions of Quebec and do in-person training with community leaders and some seniors - “training the trainers” sessions.
  • Collect feedback from participants and integrating suggestions into future modules.
  • Work with Executive Director in supporting and assisting member organizations in understanding and giving the training to seniors.
  • Work with Executive Director to organize and execute online and in-person activities and events.
  • Assist members of the public who contact SAQ.
  • Other responsibilities as the role develops.

Day to day - Every day will be different! In serving such a diverse community, you need to be able to think and act quickly, have excellent communication skills, be organized and adaptable. A good sense of humour and a positive attitude is a huge plus. Car required and provincial travel required.

About this role

Work Conditions: Flexible work conditions and schedule (30 hours a week) - shared office space in the West Island Valois Village, across the street from the train station, conveniently off the 20 between Sources and St-Johns Blvd. Two days a week in the office required with Executive Director or as needed.

This is a contract until December 31, 2021.
*
*
Skills required: Excellent communication skills, project management skills, adaptability to changing environments and strong organization skills. Must be able to speak French, and French writing skills a plus. Must be comfortable working with people remotely.

Skills as an asset: Experience working with the English-speaking community in Quebec, knowledge of Quebec’s regions, an understanding of working with community groups and supporting seniors.
*
*
