What We Offer
Reporting to the Vice-President, Total Rewards and Human Resources (HR) Technology, this position works collaboratively with partners and team members in HR, payroll, compensation and benefits, with a focus on ensuring we maximize our HR technologies to streamline related processes and maintain HR data integrity.
This role troubleshoots, implements, researches, and resolves issues with HR systems (i.e., HRIS, time and attendance, performance, compensation and learning systems) and proactively identifies areas where existing HR technologies could increase efficiencies. The position works closely with partners and team members to suggest, lead and implement process enhancements, including configuration of the systems.
As HR Technology and Process Specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Monitor performance of HR systems and ensure systems and interfaces are performing as designed.
Ensure timely communication when issues arise and work to resolve issues – this may include working directly with vendors.
Improve system efficiency by proactively identifying processes requiring improvement and working to develop, propose and implement related solutions.
Provide support for process changes and day to day administration (e.g., password resets). This may include researching, resolving and responding to problems, and performing system testing for updates.
Analyze and report on HR system data; partnering with stakeholders to understand requirements, develop reports, ensure information security and may include running SQL queries.
Maintain and, as required, create user documentation to assist with training users on functionality.
Ensure data integrity and reliability by performing data audits and ensuring appropriate data governance processes are maintained.
Configure systems for annual processes (e.g., annual benefits enrollment, compensation and performance review processes, etc.).
What You Bring
University degree, or equivalent.
3 to 5 years of HR systems expertise - working knowledge of Ultimate Software (UltiPro, Ultimate Time and Attendance) and/or Saba (Saba Cloud, Jobvite) an asset
HR or consulting experience – understanding of HR processes, and ability to apply knowledge to develop effective solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with HR partners, managers, employees and vendors/technical analysts to communicate issues and develop solutions and to explain technical concepts in both technical and non-technical language both verbally and in writing is essential.
Must be an independent learner who is curious and has a desire to continuously improve processes.
Strong data analysis skills – ability to evaluate data and draw conclusions.
Knowledge of business intelligence reporting tools is highly desirable.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivots, arrays, formulas, etc.) is required.
Must have strong analytical thinking skills and attention to detail to ensure data integrity of HR reporting.
Knowledge of standard systems testing methodologies to evaluate performance of systems is required.
