The successful candidate will support the laboratory activities for students as well as providing instructional support to faculty and preparing the laboratory (community, hospital and sterile). In particular, this individual will provide assistance with the demonstration of practical dispensing skills, retrieval of information related to the dispensing process, and general assistance in the student laboratories. In addition, they will regularly maintain the laboratory supplies, by supporting the technological aspects of the laboratory and by being a champion of the pharmacy technician laboratory’s policies and procedures. This individual will work as an effective team member with faculty in the pharmacy technician program and other members of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellness.
The successful candidate will hold a Pharmacy Technician Diploma (or higher), and be a Registrant of the Ontario College of Pharmacists with three (3) years of pharmacy experience (either hospital or community). The incumbent will have a demonstrated commitment to student teaching and mentoring. Moreover, the successful candidate will possess a thorough understanding of the role of pharmacy technicians and the education process. Ability to manage Word and Excel documents an asset.
