JOB OVERVIEW

Jake’s House is looking for a Digital Media Relations Coordinator responsible for managing all social media communications to attract and interact with virtual communities and network users. The successful candidate will combine marketing and social media management skills to architect and enhance our social media presence, including interacting with the community, promoting engaging content, and managing innovative email marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate is energetic, self-motivated and eager to learn and grow with a fast-paced organization.

PAGE BREAKJOB ORESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement social media and promotional strategies including a content plan and social media calendar 
  • Develop high-quality copy and graphic content for social media posts, web, advertising and email marketing campaigns across several platforms 
  • Develop and implement a blog calendar, assist with website updates 
  • Assist with the implementation of email marketing campaigns through copywriting support, list-building and template support  
  • Assist in data analysis and compiling reports, to help drive increased social media engagement, community growth, website traffic and conversions. 
  • Implement contests and/or competitions.  
  • Employ an entrepreneurial approach to regularly experimenting with new growth strategies and ideas. 
  • Online community management, regular engagement with online community and potential followers, charities, volunteer networks, autism communities. 
  • Establishing and fostering relationships with online influencers in our space.  
  • Help implement influencer marketing campaigns to drive brand awareness, channel growth and engagement.  

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years in a marketing or communications role
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and MailChimp platforms
  • Interest in social media and digital marketing trends
  • Strong attention to detail including spelling and grammar
  • High EQ- ability to take in feedback from your audience and suggest future social media campaigns
  • Skills to create professional, compelling content, such as writing, graphic design and photography
  • Highly organized, accurate and detail oriented
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Experience with social media ads is an asset
  • Facebook or google analytics certificates are a definite plus
  • Graphic design, web design and content creation would be considered strong assets
  • Recent graduate or working towards a communications or marketing degree or a related discipline
  • Self-motivated, proactive, resourceful and results-driven; little supervision required to achieve goals
  • Kind and empathetic, understanding the families we support always come first
  • Ability to attend meetings and events in various locations, including our Mississauga office
  • Access to a personal laptop, a mobile device and a vehicle is an asset
