Support Staff Full-time Permanent Replacement Position (Full-time support staff will be given first consideration)

Responsibilities:
We require a qualified individual to join the Student Success Services team. The incumbent is responsible for the direct service delivery of math supports to enhance the success of students enrolled in math courses at the College. The Math Consultants work collaboratively with the team to develop and organize a proactive and responsive math support delivery model at multiple campuses.

Working to strengthen math skills and improve the math confidence of students through individual and group appointments, and/or drop-ins (in person and/or virtually)
Maintaining contact/service records in conjunction with the Math service team
Developing and facilitating experiential workshops for targeted math classes as requested
Participating in appropriate Student Success Services initiatives (e.g. Pi Day) and promoting the math service as requested
Acting as an ambassador of Student Success Services in all interactions with faculty, staff and students
Staying current in the fields of math, education, and technology
In partnership with Manager and Math team, to research and respond to changing student demographics, institutional trends, and program and curriculum design
Researching service delivery models for the Math service and preparing recommendations for proactive, responsive, innovative, efficient service
Researching, developing and maintaining appropriate resources and self-directed materials for students, including the development of virtual resources
Supporting the Operations and Management teams in the development and maintenance of Math Consultant training manuals and best practices
Collecting and maintaining statistics relevant to Ministry reporting guidelines and the requirements of the College in coordination with the Operations and Management teams
Working with the Operations and Management team to evaluate effectiveness of service delivery and identifying key areas for improvement; tracking and monitoring trends
Participating in relevant meetings and actively contributing to the progression and operations of the Student Success Services team, the Math team, and college committees
Providing support to Peer Services Coordinator related to hiring, training, and development of tutors in math specific areas

Qualifications:
Four-year Bachelor of Mathematics degree or equivalent education required
Two years of experience working in an education environment, preferably at the post-secondary level, supporting students in math (e.g. tutoring, working as a teaching assistant, teaching)
Knowledge and demonstrated application of adult learning principles
Demonstrated listening and coaching skills with the ability to adapt service delivery to the preferences and needs of the student(s)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong ability to work collaboratively within the Math service and the Student Learning teams
Self-directed, innovative, and demonstrates initiative
Displays strong organizational ability with close attention to details
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Experience using learning technology in the delivery of math supports (e.g. MyMathLab)
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong experiential learning facilitation skills
