As an Associate Product Manager, you will be a key contributor to the success of D2L’s Product Management organization through direct and indirect product work. Your key responsibilities will include: owning our popular client Product Idea Exchange, redesigning our internal product input channels, and creating metrics from data in these tools that can inform important Product Management KPIs.
In addition, you will partner with an experienced Product Manager and development team to identify, define, and execute on small, but highly impactful features for our clients, as needed, from these channels. Through these interactions and supported professional development, you will grow your product management skills into a full Product Manager and owner at D2L.
The selected candidate will have a strong background in Brightspace, understand basic software development concepts, be a creative and strategic thinker, continuous learner, and strong advocate for our clients.
This role will be instrumental in representing the Product Management organization to our clients and prospects, as well as being an important contributor to current and future, strategic product direction.
How will I make an impact?
Owning, curating, moderating, and improving our external, client-driven, Product Idea Exchange (PIE).
Speaking and presenting on PIE and our Product Management methodology to clients and prospects as needed.
Working with other Product Managers to reduce their backlog of PIE feature requests and improve their workflows.
Internalizing our Product Roadmap and identifying where current and future work may align to client needs or trends in PIE.
Working with IT and key stakeholders to reimagine our internal, employee-driven, Product Idea Exchange.
Ability to establish and maintain a high-level of credibility and positive relationships with internal and external clients.
Maintain and improve internal metrics and reporting on client-driven feature needs and trends in PIE.
Work with D2L community, international, and segment leaders to improve client participation across the spectrum of our global users.
Write and Prioritize user stories and define acceptance criteria for a prioritized backlog of important features from PIE
Run various ad-hoc research and business analyses to assess product opportunities as needed.
A sharp wit and finely tuned sense of humor are desired
What you’ll bring to the role:
Minimum of 3 years of experience with Brightspace
Excellent understanding of Brightspace core features and workflows, including administrative features
Self-starter with proven success in working with cross functional teams
A good understanding of current web, data, cloud and mobile technologies
Ability to actively manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to take a leadership role when making data driven decisions
Individual must be a creative thinker, confident and able communication in a friendly and clear manner – especially to clients.
Prior experience with communicating strategic priorities and decisions to external and internal audiences.
