CANDIDATE PROFILE: The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader and a skilled licensed tradesperson with proven management and troubleshooting skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to multi -task and meet the challenges of a fast-paced diverse team environment.

SCOPE OF POSITION: Responsible to supervise the Landscape and Vehicle department and assist Manager with all related planning, scheduling, staffing, training, development and budgets.


  • Proven leadership experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience as a licensed technician in a diverse environment and/or related experience (Suitable trade qualifications could be Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Farm Equipment Technician, Powered Lift Truck Technician)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Solid computer skills Word and Excel
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license a must
  • Ability to work shifts weekends and holidays as required
  • Ownership of tools and safety boots
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
  • Required to meet the physical demands of the job including: weights of up to 23kg, frequent standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending and ability to work with a variety of equipment

  • Hands on leadership with all related planning, purchasing, turf, horticulture, irrigation and off-season snow removal efforts
  • All equipment and vehicle maintenance, vehicle/equipment capital replacement, modifications and improvement programs
  • Winterfest snow removal, grounds maintenance and staff supervision
  • Responsible to ensure all areas of responsibility are planned effectively and executed efficiently
  • Oversee all quotes, PO’s, purchasing and related administration for the department
  • Supervise department efforts related to hiring, training and development of full-time and seasonal associates
  • Responsible to ensure budgets, planning and execution of department operations are completed effectively and efficiently
  • Oversee equipment troubleshooting, diagnostics and repair, PM’s, upgrades and modifications to various types of equipment and vehicles
  • Supervise the planning and repair schedules for park equipment and vehicle maintenance programs
  • Oversee decisions and planning of new equipment and parts ordering
  • Prepare all records, reports, inspections and documentation as required
  • Responsible to ensure preparation and execution of processes, procedures, compliance and related documentation
  • Oversee the trees inspection and treatment program
  • Responsible for staff hiring, snow equipment, snow removal and grounds maintenance during Winterfest
