As a member of the collaborative, interdisciplinary team, the LPN is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care and practices to full scope as defined by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). The relief (float) LPN will go to all medicine units as required. Other key competencies for this role include: Interpersonal, organizational and assessment skills. Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Recent experience in acute care inpatient hospital setting required within the last 2 years. Basic computer and email skills required.
Experience working within a Medicine acute care practice setting within the last 2 years preferred. Experience working in a casual or float position preferred. Experience working within the CoACT framework preferred. Order Processing and Transcription experience preferred. IV Certification preferred. Ventilator skills preferred.
