The Analyst reports to the GTA Director of Research. The Analyst is responsible for supporting the development of local research output and thought leadership. Specifically, this position provides support for gathering and analyzing local market data and interpreting this information to identify trends in the market. Output of the analysis is used to produce research deliverables to be included in pitch and/or proposal materials and reflects various market dynamics. The Analyst is also accountable for accurate and proactive maintenance of proprietary and third-party databases with local market data, as well as pulling data from said systems to support thought leadership and forecast development. This position is not specific to a service line, but may specialize by property type.

Job Description

Essential duties and responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:
Manages research database(s)
Proactively and routinely updates and maintains property databases to facilitate the collection of key intelligence data relating to changing market conditions surrounding both inventory, availability and occupancy
Gather key transaction information from brokers and asset managers that speaks to changing trends in the market and analyze that information in order to make and communicate observations about changing market conditions.
Support the compilation of quarterly statistics and data integrity programs
Participates in development of local requests for research information including market stats and analysis for prospecting, pitch and/or proposal materials
Work on specialized projects that improve systems and enhance information flow and further automate existing processes
Trains and orients core business units, administrative assistants and summer interns on research products, databases and services
Analyzes data, compiles and writes (or assists in writing) quarterly reports
Assists in forecasting and economic outlook information for clients
Prepare financial analysis using our proprietary financial model

Data accuracy and comprehensiveness
Center of Excellence reporting/participation
Knowledge of CRE terminology

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

Demonstrated experience should include:
Bachelor’s degree required
1-3 years’ experience in real estate industry or business
Professional acumen, demonstrated interest in commercial real estate
Experience in data entry/data management and time series analysis/forecasting
