As a Portfolio Manager, Private Clients, at Desjardins Global Asset Management (DGAM), a Desjardins subsidiary with over $60 billion under management, you will take on a leadership and influencer role with stakeholders and work on complex, strategic files that require in-depth expertise in your field of activity, i.e., portfolio management and offering to the high-net-worth clients. You will serve as a subject matter expert and resource person for these high-net-worth clients and for all private wealth managers.

Working closely with private wealth managers and Wealth Management Advisory Services Division’s portfolio solutions team, you will implement a good investment strategy that is tailored to our clients’ individual needs in building portfolios or allocating assets strategically. You will also play a part in developing strategies and monitoring market trends with expert managers at Desjardins Global Asset Management (DGAM).

Additional responsibilities

Serve as an expert investment advisor assisting the private wealth managers in their interactions with members and clients and in their client development and retention activities.
Oversee the development of model and personalized portfolios for private clients in discretionary management, strategic asset allocations, fund choices, as well as financial instruments to implement this strategy, by relying on DGAM teams and ensuring consistency with their work.
Produce portfolio performance assessments and strategy review in support of private wealth managers.
Assume coaching of private wealth managers on all aspects associated with investments and portfolios.
Coordinate private portfolio re-balancing by working closely with portfolio solutions team and DGAM’s tactical allocation managers; seek consistency with the institutional strategy while abiding by the specific needs, restrictions and features of private clients.
Advise the portfolio solutions team on the timing of transactions.
Contribute to the development of private funds and other investment solutions adapted to client portfolios under discretionary private management .
Meet the requirements of the Wealth Management Advisory Services Division regarding market commentary and model portfolio returns, as needed. Provide comments proactively in special situations or in response to substantial market volatility.
Attend investment-related conferences and presentations for partners and clients, upon request.
Take part in DGAM’s reporting to the Wealth Management Advisory Services Division on the wealth management services provided.
Contribute generally to DGAM activities that seek to develop our investment process and approaches to the benefit of members and clients.

Bachelor's degree in a related field
A minimum of eight years of a relevant experience , including Business Development and Portfolio Management.

Be registered with the AMF as an associate representative advisor or a representative advisor.
For vacant positions available in Quebec, please note that knowledge of French is required.
