Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for a Program Administrative Assistant to join the Inner City COVID-Outreach Team with the Three Bridges Community Health Centre. Apply today to join our team!

As an Administrative Assistant with VCH you will:
Provide administrative services and program support for Addictions and/or HIV / AIDS Services.

Act as a receptionist:
schedule and confirm client appointments,
create and maintains client records,
receive and distribute client laboratory reports, and organizes and processes methadone applications.

Perform word processing and transcription duties:
arrange, attend and take minutes of meetings,
maintain and compile statistics,
assist with research and other special projects,
set up and maintain electronic and paper filing systems,
and receive incoming/outgoing material.
Maintain an inventory of program supplies.
Arrange for maintenance and repairs to the office and office equipment.
Operate office equipment, orient new and relief team members to the administrative policies and procedures, and engage in on-going team planning, and quality improvement activities.

Education & Experience

Grade 12 supplemented with an approved Medical Office Assistant/Secretarial program and three (3) years’ recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Knowledge & Abilities

Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
Knowledge of and proficiency in relevant software, including word processing, spreadsheet, graphic and database software application.
Ability to work with marginalized people struggling with severe illnesses and chemical dependency.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work.
Ability to analyze, problem solve and take initiative.
Ability to work with frequent interruptions and adapt to changes.
Ability to perform relevant calculations.
Ability to compile information.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Business writing skills.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
