We are seeking a Virtual Construction Coordinator (VCC) for the Confederation Line Extension Project in Ottawa, Ontario
As a member of the Bird Construction Team, the VCC works directly with the project team to assist in project delivery throughout design and construction utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools. The successful candidate is responsible for managing the 3D building models provided by consultants for use in visualization, constructability analysis, building systems coordination and construction sequencing.
Responsibilitie s include but are not limited to the following :
Support operations by incorporating sub trade models into consultants models.
Manipulate and maintain 3D models for specific projects for use during preconstruction and construction phases.
Analyze models provided by Architects and Design Engineers & adjust for evaluation, planning and production.
Produce Quantity take-off reports.
Generate Site logistics models.
Create 4D visualizations to link construction Schedule, sequence of work, and logistics phasing.
Run clash detection, design coordination and track through Clash Report.
Working with the project team must possess the ability to standardize, support, and present BIM solutions to architecture, engineering and construction professionals
Develop advanced Dynamo scripts to automate existing workflows and when needed
Work with the project scheduler to include information within the project schedule that allows the linking of a task to a BIM object.
Understands and assist with the project workflows from design, estimation, construction administration and coordination, and fabrication.
Expedite required information and deliverables from consultants, subcontractors and owners
The successful candidate must have graduated from a recognized architectural, engineering or construction management program (minimum 2 year program) or have a minimum of three years of project coordination using virtual construction tools which include BIM/CAD applications.
Proficiency in BIM software programs, specifically Revit, Navisworks , Dynamo, Civil3D.
Collaboration and Data Management Solutions such as; BIM 360 Model coordination, BIM 360 Design, ReCap, Fuzor, Power BI is desired.
Software such as; Solibri, Sketch Up, 3D Studio Max, ArchiCAD, Bentley, Digital Project, Tekla, is a plus
Proficiency in MS Office
Excellent project management, communication, multi-tasking and leadership skills
Effective oral and written communication skills and excellent listening skills
Proven ability to work in a team and have a collaborative spirit
Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
Must have strong organizational, planning, problem solving, and analytical skills.
Working knowledge of construction practices, materials, means and methods
