In your role, you will:
-
Work with a dynamic, growing, efficient and multidisciplinary engineering team technically responsible for the design of test rigs and complex infrastructure

-
Support multiple projects in collaboration with experts from various fields within aerospace

-
Play a vital role at BAEX, to participate in and contribute to the success and achievement of a multitude of unique and challenging projects

-
Be responsible for planning of both short- and medium-term design work packages

-
Perform mechanical design, and oversee the production of detail drawings and installation drawings for work packages under your responsibility

-
Design for experimental flight test vehicle systems as well as Special Mission aircraft using CATIA V5 software

-
Interpret technical specifications necessary related to aerospace domain to develop solution to meet the design requirements that will be entrusted to you

Perform preliminary structural analyses of your designs

Plan and adhere to project schedule deadlines while respecting allocated budgets

-
Collaborate with colleagues and multidisciplinary teams, dedicated to the project, in order to achieve results

Work in collaboration with the experimental shop and support the manufacturing team as needed

  • Be involved in the concrete accomplishment of your designs by supporting as designer the phases of manufacturing, assembly and installation of your achievements.
Qualifications

As our ideal candidate,

-
You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering with ten (10) or more years of experience in a similar position

-
You have an excellent knowledge of CATIA V5 design and modeling software

-
You have a practical experience in equipment design in an aeronautical and industrial context

-
You have experience in design of machined and sheet metal parts as well as welded assemblies. A basic knowledge of instrumentation is an asset

-
You have a strong sense of responsibilities, a good practical and technical judgment and a high level of flexibility

-
You demonstrate dynamism, good listening and a strong interest in teamwork

-
You can manage priorities in a context of parallel, multiple and complex deliveries

-
You can work under pressure to meet design deadlines (DPS)

-
You are familiar with Microsoft Office software such as PowerPoint and Excel

-
You have exceptional relational and editorial skills in English and French

-
You must be eligible for registration in the Canadian Controlled Goods Directive (CGD) Program and an asset if already registered - non-US citizens nor Green Card holders or permanent residents of the USA

Being a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) is an asset
