Our Montreal location in Quebec, Canada is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Specialist, Commercial Logistics. This job is permanent, full-time.

The Specialist, Commercial Logistics has responsibility for managing all contractual aspects of warehouse and rail related services for Resolute Forest Products, covering Paper & Pulp.

Your challenges:
Collect, develop and analyze necessary market and internal information that supports the negotiation and process implementation for new and existing warehouses and rail opportunities.
Oversee and manage existing warehouse and rail contractual agreements ensuring that Resolute benefits from the most favorable terms and conditions as well as cost effective pricing given current and future considerations in the overall forest products marketplace.
Work cross-functionally with other purchasing teams within Resolute to leverage purchasing power and ensure that commercial strategies are aligned.
Continually evaluate and analyze information and market conditions for new opportunities to drive cost reductions or tactical changes in regards to new or existing warehouses and/or rail routings.
Lead negotiations of strategic warehousing arrangements and agreements, ensuring the most cost competitive and service oriented outcome for Resolute.
Maintain a full and comprehensive knowledge of the current and future domestic and international Logistics marketplace to proactively evaluate risk and warehousing/rail opportunities.
Interact with managers and peers in Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Planning and Mill Operations to provide fact based information and Logistics input relating to the Resolute warehousing and rail strategy and tactical decisions impacting customers and operations.
Develop and maintain day to day relationships with key warehouses, ensuring that Resolute as a key customer derives the optimal value from these relationships.
Coordinate decision making and projects with the Manager Logistics, Network Design and the Manager, Logistics Operations to ensure smooth and effective implementation of projects.

Reporting to the Manager Logistics, Network Design, you will be part of a results oriented team where exceeding expectation is encouraged.

Your profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations, Production Management or Supply Chain.
Minimum 5 years Supply Chain Logistics or procurement experience within a large scales manufacturing environment

Your skills & assets:
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in both official languages.
Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate and deal with complex operating scenarios.
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP applications software especially inventory management and production planning.
Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team, to communicate with all levels of the organization and to quickly adapt to change.
Very good working knowledge of MS Office, JD Edwards and SAP will be considered an asset.
Strong organizational and planning skills, including project management.
Solid analytical skills and the ability to quickly make sound decisions based on experience and judgment, even when you have incomplete information and/or are under pressure.
