The Manager, Purchase to Pay (P2P) Management leads and oversees a team in Procurement Operations in Canada ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.


Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Applies knowledge of procurement best practice and general business practice to enable transactions with suppliers on Scotiabank’s Purchase to Pay (P2P) system(s) and monitors performance of the P2P process to act on exceptions that prevent goods and services purchases alignment with Procurement Policy and Procedures, and other related policies.
Leads their team to interact with suppliers, and representatives from business units that conduct purchasing activities, to ensure the purchasing process is enabled on a Scotiabank’s P2P system. (E.g. SmartBuy)
Leads their team to conduct activities for Buyer Action (follow-up on missing contract references/attachments, address broken approval chain, etc), monitor KPIs and take necessary steps to drive actions, validate documentation on Purchase Requests approvals above certain thresholds per expense policies.
Sets goals, objectives, KPIs, and assigns work to direct reports while providing them with guidance, coaching, and mentoring to execute on their development plans.
Reviews, approves, follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documentation to ensure data quality and consistent delivery of service by their team according to established Operating Level Agreements (OLAs)
Reviews, approves, follows Problem Resolution Procedure (PRP) documentation for efficient and consistent resolution of common problems to be solved or further escalated by their team.
Seeks agreeable and timely resolution to issues escalated to them by their team, suppliers, or other internal/external stakeholders.
Identifies insights, issues and presents reports that monitors Procurement Policy compliance and operational KPIs.
Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.


College Diploma or University Degree in related field
4+ years of project/program management experience related to procurement technology enablement or business procurement process improvement
Experience with/knowledge of operating purchasing technology; Purchase to Pay (P2P), Source to Pay (S2P)
People management experience
Strong analytical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
