We are currently looking for a Ethics & Compliance Officer
at our Corporate Offices in Ajax, ON
As an Ethics & Compliance Officer of Volkswagen Group Canada Inc., you will be an architect of the corporation’s Compliance strategy, structure and processes and primarily responsible for the Compliance function and the Risk Management and Internal Controls System (RMS/ICS) across brands and business units.
Reporting to the President, you will have full scope responsibility for the integrity Program at Volkswagen Group Canada, including deliverables set out in the Together 4 Integrity program and will be responsible for establishing standards and implementing processes for a robust Integrity, Compliance and Risk Management programs throughout the organization.
As an independent advisor, you will provide advice regarding Compliance, ethical questions, effective policies, and processes to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and Risk Management initiatives to Senior Leadership Team and the Executive Board as well as to employees in his/her field of responsibility. You will also serve as an internal resource with which concerned parties may communicate and manage critical channels of communication to receive and direct compliance issues to appropriate resources for investigation and resolution.
Maintains and supports risk analysis of the business and enforcing the RMS/ICS process and being pro-active to avoid potential risks related to non-compliance.
Provides advisory and Representation of the company regarding topics of Compliance and Ethics with regards to internal and external contact persons.
Decision of Compliance related issues in complex business operations that might have material impact for the company.
Conducts annual Compliance risk analysis based on the Regular Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Process and leading and facilitating regular meetings with key functions, such as legal, internal audit, finance, Human Resources, related to Compliance.
Leads and coordinates all Group-related requirements for integrated GRC and ensuring that company fulfils all requirements set by the Group Chief Compliance Officer in AG.
Develops policies and processes that encourage managers and employees to conduct only proper business and to report suspected Compliance related violations without fear of retaliation
Develops, coordinates, and delivers multifaceted training programs that focuses on the elements of Compliance, and seeks to ensure that all appropriate employees and management are knowledgeable of, and comply with, pertinent provincial and federal laws, and company-wide standards.
Reports regularly to Executive Board of VGCA on current situation and events of particular significance in the area of compliance.
Reports ,as needed, to the Group Chief Compliance Officer of Volkswagen AG or AUDI AG on the current situation and events of particular significance in the area of compliance, via the defined channels of reporting
Regularly reports and advises Executive Board members at VGCA. Serve as permanent member of the Senior Leadership Team, attends all meetings and reports annually to the Board of Directors.
Ensure that any hints on potential Compliance violations are handled properly and directed to the appropriate channels (e.g. Whistleblower Hotline, Investigation Office, Helpdesk)

What we’re asking for:
Master’s Degree in Law, Business or related field is required. Ph.D. in law would be an asset
A great attitude and proven ability to be an effective business partner, team player, and collaborator
10+ years of Risk and Compliance experience, including 5+ years of management experience.
Proven success in analytical skills to identify Compliance related risks in existing processes and procedures
Clear understanding of regulatory landscape and organizational obstacles
Excellent communication and presentation skills; proven track record in delegating and monitoring of the results of the projects.
