As a PM Lead – Capital Revitalization within our Facilities Management - Admin Department under the Planning, Design & Construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the renewal, improvement and modernization of physical facility and site assets in order to improve the efficiency, reliability and value of these assets. You will manage a team of Project Managers with the primary responsibility of developing and executing the organization's approved Capital Facilities Plan. Ensures that project teams and individuals meet assigned goals and objectives in accordance with recognized corporate standards and PPM best practices.
Responsibilities
What will your typical day look like?
Manages a team of professional Project Managers; assigns approved projects to staff, provide guidance and direction to the team and assists with conflict resolution. Ensures goals and objectives are accomplished and deliverables comply with intended scope of project.
Assists in the development and implementation of construction/design standards, e.g. master specifications, product and/or materials, standardized project estimating. Assists in establishing and maintaining a sustainable energy and power strategy, space standards, project documentation standards, commissioning and hand over policies and procedures, etc. to provide accurate and up-to-date information to architects, contractors, specialists, construction management firms, corporate stakeholders and staff.
Assists in standardizing guidelines for managing and executing Facilities revitalization projects, ensuring that processes are efficient and that there is a consistent approach to construction project management.
Liaises with the Facilities Asset Management team to conduct triennial building condition assessments on existing facilities for developing the multi-year and annual capital revitalization plan, subject to the needs and requirements of the Agency.
Responsible for the creation of the organization's multi-year and annual capital revitalization program. Takes a proactive approach to understand and prepare for future needs and requirements. Prepares all necessary business cases and funding submissions in support of agreed direction and ensures plans are realistic and achievable within estimated budgets, timelines and available resources.
Co-ordinates construction activities to ensure that all phases of construction are completed with minimal impact and disruption to staff and the public. If disruptions are inevitable, consult with affected staff and formalize an acceptable action plan.
Develops and implements a communication plan/strategy for regularly reporting on project status and finances to all pertinent project sponsors, stakeholders, end users and staff.
Regularly conducts random site inspection on active projects for ensuring compliance with plans, specifications and local codes, and to ensure quality and workmanship are in accordance with corporate expectations.
Monitors project activities (e.g. costs, time and materials, schedules, budgets, change management, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring objectives are achieved on-time and within approved budget.
Prepares written materials (e.g. correspondence, memos, budgets, costs, bid invitations, calendars, schedules, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying all forms of information.
Develops policies, procedures and/or action plans on issues that relate to revitalization projects and programs.
Provides technical and professional advice to assist with the decision making process.
Responds to inquiries from administrative staff, local inspectors, contractors, and architects, the public, etc. for the purpose of providing required information and/or referring to appropriate source.
Reviews and comments on a variety of construction related information for the purpose of accuracy and completeness (e.g. construction documents and contracts, CCDC, Architect doc. 6, bonding etc.).
Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
You are someone with:
A University Degree in a construction related field, e.g. Engineering, Architectural Sciences or equivalent, with specialized study in capital planning, strategic facilities planning, master planning, budgeting and estimating, business administration, or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
A minimum of four years of experience as a Manager leading a team of professional project managers in order to develop and implement a multi-year construction project portfolio
Demonstrated managerial experience developing short and long term strategic facilities plans and associated Capital Plans, e.g. infrastructure revitalization and replacement and renovation projects
Demonstrated planning, time management and organizational skills
Demonstrated project management skills
Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated written communication skills
Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrated strategic thinking and a broad awareness of current trends and developments in related fields
Familiarity with applicable building and safety codes and regulations
Working knowledge of recognized trades
A valid Ontario Driver's Licence (Class G) with full driving privileges

What we offer
The salary range for this permanent, full-time position is $133,162.00 - $157,654.00 per annum. Peel Regional Police offers a highly competitive compensation package; applicants will be considered for the top end of the range ($145,410.00 – $157,654.00) based on experience and education. The salary is complemented with a comprehensive benefit program, including employer-paid Health/Dental and Life Insurance; and the OMERS Pension Plan effective upon hire. Remote work is not available for this position.
