Fox Exploration Ltd. is accepting applications for a Field Geologist to work at a remote diamond drilling project near Dawson City, Yukon. Job Overview
The Field Geologist will work closely with other geological team members in processing and sampling of diamond drill core at a remote exploration camp on a rotational basis of approximately 4 weeks on site and 1-2 weeks of leave. This position reports directly to the Project Geologist. Accommodations at camp, meals, and transportation to and from the project site will be provided.
Responsibilities
Job duties of the Field Geologist will include but are not limited to the following:
- Logging drill core,
- Overseeing geotechnical logging, sampling and processing of diamond drill core
- Spotting drill holes and aligning the drill rig on site
- Photography of drill core and data entry
- Organize samples for shipment to the analytical lab
- Track and catalogue drill core and samples
- Work closely with the rest of the geological team members and support staff
- Report directly to the Senior Geologist
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Geology or Earth Sciences
- Previous experience in a mineral exploration camp is an asset
- Experience with GeoSpark is an asset
- Physically fit to perform duties and ability to lift core boxes (approx. 50 lbs)
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
