S*ales & Marketing Coordinator*

(Lifestyle Consultant)

Reporting to the General Manager, the Lifestyle Consultant will be a key member of the campus management team and accountable for achieving sales and marketing objectives as well as assessing and evaluating prospective resident’s clinical needs and services. The Lifestyle Consultant applies their seniors living expertise while using a proactive sales strategy to generate new leads through prospecting activities, referrals, advertising, providing educational sessions and developing community outreach programs. The responsibilities with respect to this role are:

  • Managing all aspects of the sales process to help prospects and their families make the decision to choose a retirement community;
  • Developing and executing quarterly sales and marketing plans to deliver on budgeted objectives;
  • Developing advertising and promotional strategies;
  • Promoting and networking with senior’s community groups and associations to increase community awareness and visibility of Parkland Fredericton;
  • Work closely with our corporate Marketing team to obtain local market intelligence and feedback specific to the Fredericton region of New Brunswick;
  • Managing a marketing and advertising budget;
  • Assessing current retirement industry and healthcare trends and bring forward recommendations to campus management team and to corporate marketing;
  • Maintaining and managing the client funnel e.g. inquiry tracking, requests for accommodation, referrals, follow-up process; and tracking all sales activity and leads in a database;
  • Meeting potential clients to assess which service line is safe and appropriate for their lifestyle and care needs. Responding to information requests from potential clients and completing bookings for permanent and short-term resident stays as required;
  • Providing tours to prospective clients and other interested persons;
  • Maintaining the Sales/Information Package; reviewing the contents with all new clients;
  • Providing support during the move-in process for all new clients;
  • Assisting with the admission; transfer to other services lines, and discharge of clients in coordination with the management team.

Requirements for the role include:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience with a focus on business administration;
  • Previous sales or marketing experience;
  • Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products;
  • Valid Driver’s License;
  • Ability to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, evenings, weekends and holidays as required.

The following would be considered assets:

  • 3-5 years sales or marketing experience including event planning;
  • Previous experience in working with seniors;
  • Formal healthcare education or experience working in health care industry;
  • Bilingual (French & English).

Knowledge, skills and abilities required for the role include:

  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team;
  • Ability to promote and sell health care related services to new and existing clients;
  • Demonstrated proficiency in public speaking and ability to communicate in public venues;
  • Professional manner with strong customer service skills;
  • Self-starter, with a positive attitude and a passion for sales;
  • People person who enjoys the senior population;
  • Ability to plan, direct and prioritize multiple and competing work responsibilities.
