Position Summary

Responsible for achieving annual Sales, Profit & Market Share targets on the Canadian Tire, Giant Tiger and Dollarama accounts. The individual is accountable for the strategic plan for each account as well as executing “go-to-market” strategies. The incumbent will work closely with a wide cross-functional team to ensure target achievement as well as in developing a strategic relationship with the customer.

Major Responsibilities

Accountable for the strategic Account plan, based on internal objectives, Marketing, Business Development, and Shopper Marketing plans, as well as external competitive marketplace issues and opportunities.

Determines Account strategy with a special focus on Assortment, Merchandising, and best practice Sales promotion.

Accountable for Account sales, customer contribution and the various banners/divisions within the customer:

Ensures high visibility for Purina within the Account.

Cultivates synergy and collaborative relationships via Integrated Commercial Planning between Marketing, Trade Marketing, and Retail Solutions.

Ensures the integration of Brand Plans and Channel plans with Account plans and Retail strategy.

Develops the account plan.

Communicates all Retail needs and ensures alignment takes place before final account plan completion.

Responsible for Trade Spend and maximizing Customer Contribution within the Account by developing and managing a budget.

Drives pre and post promotion evaluation to increase ROI/ROS.

Responsible for determining the needs for successful Joint Business Planning with the Account.

Develops the specific agenda for the session.

Communicates Cross Functional needs of Supply Chain, Product Strategy, Business Development and Shopper Marketing to allow for cross functional feeds and participation.

Accountable for Account Sales Reporting.

Accountable for monthly forecast contribution in order to deliver internal targets.

Qualifications

Completion of a University Degree in Business Administration with a focus on sales/marketing.

3-5 years of progressive sales experience managing a top-tier retail customer. Experience within the Pet food industry would be considered an asset.

Solid hands-on experience in an analytical role. Past work with AC Nielsen would be an asset.

Advanced computer skills, specifically with MS Word, PowerPoint, and especially Excel.

Competencies must include strong leadership, collaborative/interpersonal skills, analytical skills, project management and time management skills.

Highly developed organizational, communication, negotiation and presentation skills.

Willing to travel as required.
